A Gander at Grizzly Bear

I found a new band today and I have to say that I am intrigued by them. So much so, that I watched several of their videos to get a better feel for their sound. Their music is very esoteric and great to chill out to. Their videos are all bizarre, requiring hallucinogenics to properly understand them (I suspect, I didn't experiment).

No matter, I just thought I would share. Here is the first video I watched by Grizzly Bear.

  5. Yeah, Grizzly Bear is pretty cool. Big in the "indie" world. I like the chill out to weird music thing, so it's right up my alley. :)

  6. Yay! I can finally comment! Blogger is being picky lately and on some blogs I keep getting an error message.

I listened and really liked. They have a haunting quality that's engaging.

Hope you had a fabulous Victoria Day weekend, Katherine!

  7. @Brian: "an ADHD delight"

Ha, coming from the professional! I have to agree though. All the videos I watched were pretty ahem interesting.

@Ron: I like the sound, but have to admit that the videos are a little - No, more like a lot over my head. But, I'm okay with that. :)

  8. @Mijayami: No doubt! I wonder how long it took to shoot the video?

@Claudia: My kids would have a blast trying to do half of what these guys did. I bet that it was a fun process though

  9. @Me: Well, it is not surprising to me in the least that you already know this band. You seem to have an up on all that "indie" stuff (as you put it). I should just have you make me up some tapes or something.

Uh, oh too old, burn me a thumb drive is more like it I guess... ;P

  10. @Talon: Ever since Blogger had its meltdown, there have been a few more issues. I never did get my post back that disappeared in the fray. Bummer.

Glad you were able to comment today though! And yes, I had a fabulous long weekend spent mostly in the garden soaking up some much needed sunshine while planting some new flowery bits. Ahhh, gotta love long weekends!

  11. Well, count me among the dissenters. Both the music and the video made me feel... I don't know... twitchy, I guess. :-(
