A Dark Night

warnings
in the night
discrete messages
from those that cannot get through
marked with an X
to let me know
that people
worry

M, look delightful
poisonous intent on the tongue
beware the young

  2. @TimeOutMom directed me here! And I'm glad she did because I heart poetry. Funny I was just looking up information about Haikus and I read your poem. Not sure if they are Haikus, but it reminded me of them. I must try it someday, but I talk too much!

  3. I did just that as a child....ate mushrooms. I can actually remember being in the hospital at the age of 2 or 3 having my stomach pumped. My poor mother.

  4. @Brian: I am trying to stay away from the poison my friend. It is a bit cryptic tonight, but I hope the message gets through to the one whom it was intended for

  5. @Janice: Hi Janice! The bottom poem is indeed a haiku. Both go together, but I switched forms part way through.

I am glad you stopped in today. Thanks for visiting!

  6. @Monkey Man: Oh that is scary MM! I have a book on mushrooms and there are so many to watch out for that it is hard to have courage to try any wild ones. Poor mother indeed! Glad you were okay though!

  7. Though I don't understand the message, of course, I understand the medium completely. Sometimes, our "creative" words say it best, especially when other words seem to fail. I hope you message gets through.
