Summer's End

Forest walk
with an eye for colour
Look ye there
I see another!

Reds, yellows,
greens and brown
A rainbow amongst the trees
and all around.

Feathered friends
and furry ones too
There's lots of life left
Despite Autumn's hue.

Those fleeting rays of sunshine
we chase into the trees
Our false sense of summer;
a pleasure and a tease.

These days a memory
one to cherish true
as winter approaches close
and balmy days are wished adieu

    1. @Brian: I don't know who thought it was alright that they grow so much! My babies are getting big, big, Big. But we are growing with smiles, so all good. Hope you and your boys are well Brian.

  2. You captured the essence of the season in all its tribal colors... ditto to Brian - I thought the same about your lovely daughters,

    1. @Joanny: Thanks Joanny. I love this time of year and glory in the rainbows that Mother Nature bathes us in before Jack Frost steals much of the colour from the world.

      Blessings to you
