Well, it's that time again. Somehow my day seems to be slipping by without notice, but I am on it. Yup, today is day 1 of pickle making. I bought a whack of pickling cukes yesterday. At 1:30 I am finally ready to start, barring any distractions. Dill pickles should be setting up in shiny jars by the end of the day, with sweet pickles to be made shortly after (or tomorrow?). So no time for wasting; a pickling I go! Happy Six Word Saturday! Hope your day is a success.

Nothing earth-shattering to report here.  I just opened my blog up and was bored. Decided to change things up a bit before going on holiday. Yes, I should be attending to the rest of my house a little more, but that would not give me as much satisfaction. Hope your weekend is ship-shape!

   We have flown the coop to far-away lands for the holidays. Gone on a three-hour tour, not to return until the thrum of traffic lulls to my liking. Well, something like that. We are approximately that far from home to celebrate Canada Day with my Mom and Dad. The kitties will be irked with us being gone, but friends will come to tend to them and the house (I will find distasteful presents placed oh so delicately on my pillow if not) while we frolic in Lake Couchiching and surrounding areas. I hope not to bring too much campfire stench home with me to make you sniff, but excuse me if I do. Hopefully I have remembered to pack my Muskoka dinner jacket with me. Happy Saturday and have a good weekend!

P.S. If that is me, I have had WAY too much to drink this weekend and won't be back tomorrow. OY, VEI!

I would whine, but really I am just happy to get stuff out of my house. Once it is in the driveway, the rule is it does NOT go back in the house. Kijiji is where the desk will hopefully disappear to, but Goodwill welcomed our beautiful seconds with open arms. Someone will re-purpose and give those errant stuffies and stools good homes I am sure. For some lucky visitors there were great deals to be had. You other cheap buggers out there drive me nuts, but it is done for another year. Now I have a smidgen more space to add more NEW beautiful junk of my own. Happy Saturday!

Here's hoping that the fore-casted rain passes us by. Acme Animal has a booth set up in Wortley Village for the Art in the Village show today. Thunderstorms and high humidity are projected for later this afternoon, but hopefully sunshine will reign until people have been able to enjoy the talent of the artist's community in my neck of the woods. I won't have paint on my hands today, but maybe some green will rub into my friends hands. I shall be joining the Acme gang as soon as the babysitter shows up. Happy  6WS Saturday!

I am playing along at Six Word Saturday again. Sigh, another day of gray clouds, when all we want is a few rays of Mr.Sun to add fun to our day. The Gathering on the Green is today in Wortley Village. We have been the last few years and the girls love it, to say nothing of Mommy's excitement at getting out of the house. It is a free event that has face painting  and creative activities for the children, as well as artisans, a plant sale by the local horticultural society, a silent auction,  live music and food. Yippee! We are going regardless and just going to hold our breath that rain clouds do not spoil our fun. Have a great Saturday!

Playing along at Six Word Saturday.

The full moon was actually Thursday, but it was still pretty full last night when we went out. The party was fun and many of the costumes rocked. Elvis was spotted (old fat dude), as were the Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Wolverine, Captain America, a couple of Wonder Womans, Duff Man, and even Buddha and Jesus were there! We were inundated by Super Daves (groomsmen)and Super Brides Maids, which added to the fun. I aspired to sleep in again, as it was a late night, but it was not to be. The day is a'wasting though, so I am off to grab it by the heels and fly! Have a Super Saturday!
